Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding is set to make its Metstrade debut this November (18–20) at the RAI Amsterdam, marking a strategic moment for the British yard to spotlight its refit and custom-build credentials. As part of the Pendennis Group’s Superyacht Zone presence (Hall 8, Stand 08.173), Cockwells will stand alongside Pendennis Shipyard, Pendennis Vilanova and Norfolk Interiors in a unified showcase of high-end naval craftsmanship.
This is the first time all four Pendennis divisions will present together, emphasising their fully integrated approach to superyacht new-builds, refits and interiors. The collaborative stand will feature a 360-degree “floating island” design, complete with hospitality zones, meeting areas, barista coffee and Wi-Fi, creating both a visual and functional hub for visitors.
For Cockwells, the show offers more than visibility — it’s an opportunity to underline its role in superyacht refit programmes. The Cornwall-based builder is known for its expert craftsmanship in bespoke tenders, Duchy Motor Launches, and specialist refit projects, including custom tender support for high-profile yachts such as Marala and Malahne.
Stephen Hills, Commercial Director at Pendennis Group, explains that the joint presence underscores a shared commitment to delivering a comprehensive suite of services: “From tenders to joinery, from new builds to refit – we are offering clients access to unmatched expertise and a full ecosystem of marine craftsmanship.”
Toby Allies, Managing Director of the Pendennis Group, further defines the strategic value: “As one of only six refit cluster stands at Metstrade 2025, we are uniquely positioned to show how our four branch businesses feed into each other — enabling holistic, technically rigorous refit and build outcomes.”
Cockwells will be represented at the show by its Design Director, Henry Ward, working alongside Hills, and ready to discuss bespoke yacht tender design, refit tender programmes, and broader project requirements.
Beyond being a debut, this presence at Metstrade signals Cockwells’ maturation into a major player across superyacht refit and new-build markets. Their integration within the Pendennis platform underscores how legacy British boatbuilding, engineering precision, and refined joinery skills can merge seamlessly with modern demands — providing owners and brokers with a unified, end-to-end partner in transformation and build.
